Antique Caucasian Kazak Rug. Caucasian carpets and rugs are primarily made in villages, rather than in cities. They are made from materials particular to individual tribal provinces, the rugs of the Caucasus normally display bold geometric designs in primary colors. Hailing from the southwest Caucasus, Kazak rugs are celebrated for their lush, pile and vigorous geometric designs. These antique pieces radiate with saturated natural dyes and unapologetic boldness. Among Caucasian weavings, Kazaks stand apart as the sine qua non—a benchmark of craftsmanship and character that continues to captivate seasoned collectors and design enthusiasts alike. Hand-knotted in the Caucasus Mountains using hand-spun wool and natural dyes. Colors: brick/ivory/blues/browns.

Caring for your rug
Caring for your rug
Vacuum your rug frequently and use a vacuum which uses suction and does not have bristles. If possible, set vacuum to low power setting and vacuum the rug up and down and do not use a back-and-forth motion.
If possible, rotate the rug every few years to allow foot traffic to be spread evenly and shade the rug from direct sunlight to avoid fading in areas.
A rug pad is recommended on all surfaces to prevent slipping and stop marking if on floors with grooves or lines. Professional cleaning is recommended every two or three years.
